Why serve? It gives us the opportunity to show God's love in a practical way. Also, the greatest things I have ever experienced in my Christian walkâ¨have always happened during my attempt to serve. Last year while photographing our church members sprucing up Grover Beach Elementary School facilities I began to understand that serving is about blessing others which in turn blessed us. As I documented what my brothers and sisters did for Christ, I was blessed to watch us “blow the socks off” the school officials. Similarly I was blown away by God’s work in my life. Serving, for me, is now about enjoying God’s blessing in joining Him in blessing others. It’s a win, win, win!

Service is a key part of our church and we love it! Not only do we enjoy helping whomever we are serving, but also serving together brings our group closer together. We eat together, paint together, help each other out in small ways - it all brings us closer. And it puts us in touch with what the Bible says, love one another. So painting a room, weeding a yard, organizing someone's garage - all simple things for sure - but yet a very tangible way to show someone God's love and concern for them. That's why we serve.
